Our Approach

We aim to collaborate with organizational leaders, early educators, parents, community members, advocates and policymakers to change laws and regulations that impact the field of early care and education; raise awareness about important issues, such as systems that perpetuate low compensation structures, worker's emotional/mental distress and low job satisfaction; and ensure that all children have access to high quality early learning experiences.

Research & Advocacy

At Sankofa, we are dedicated to supporting the early education sector by listening to the narratives shared by its workforce.

The qualitative research conducted by our organization, with funding support from WECA, provides "lessons learned" from the workforce and implications for the field of early care and education.

Sankofa is excited to announce funding support from WECA to provide advocacy and leadership professional development for early educators, who served as research participants, throughout 2025. This initiative will equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to effectively advocate for policies that impact children, families, and early educators.
